Golf in Lisbon
The courses can be much quieter and often cheaper than the other resorts of
Europe and, due to the short flying time, it is also an ideal choice for a weekend
break. Our favourites north of the river include the links at Praia d’El Rey,
Oitavos, Penha Longa and Belas, whilst the southern offering includes gems at
Aroeira, Troia and Quinta do Peru plus two superb new courses at Ribagolfe
(destined to become the Valderrama of Portugal)!
The coastal resorts of Estoril and Cascais are excellent options for groups seeking
a livelier stay with golf but full-on night-owls should seriously consider a base
central to Lisbon city’s pulsating nightlife (see Vila Gale Opera opposite).
Elsewhere, there are a host of Classic Golf Resorts available whilst the courses on
the Costa Azul are well-served from the picturesque coastal town of Sesimbra.
Plenty of choice and great value.
